The procedure to establish a limited liability company is as follows:
- You first visit a civil law notary to have the draft articles of
incorporation drawn up;
- then apply to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to register the company;
- finally, go back to the notary for the remaining procedure of finalization.
In the case of an incorporation, work can be already started as
"N.V.(i.o)", that is to say,
a limited liability company to be incorporated.
Labour Advisory Body
This institution advises the Minister of Labour on labour legislation.
Composition: trade-union organisation(4 representatives); employers'
organizations(4 representatives); government (4 representatives, incl. the chairperson).
The Trade Union Movement
The Trade Union Movement has a number of umbrella organizations, namely:
Moederbond(Mother Union) Progressive Employees' Organisation; Centrale 47
(C'47); Centrale Landsdienaren Organisate (CLO, Federation of Civil Servants'
Organizations);
Organisatie van Surinaamse Autonome Vakbewegingen(OSAV, Organization of
Surinamese Unions, Autonomous Trade Unions); Federatie van Agrariers en
Landarbeiders (FAL, Federation of Agriculturists and Farmers).
Some of these organisations are joined together in RAVAKSUR( Council of Trade
Unions in Suriname).
